Presentation Catalog

In addition to custom presentations and seminars, Dr. Nixon has the following presentation already packaged and available:

  • The boom in mindfulness, the mind-body connection and meditation, coupled with a fast paced, hectic world, have many people wanting, or perhaps actively seeking, a “Zen state of mind”. Learn how to cultivate skills, tools and practices for managing stress and creating calm.

  • Everyday life can bring on a series of “stressors” and events that are challenging to deal with, causing feelings of being frazzled, overwhelmed, exhausted or even anxious. Our physiological response to stress—our “flight or fight” reaction—increases our heart rate, respiratory rate, perspiration and a host of other unwanted biological reactions. It affects our mood state, our energy levels and our ability to move forward with enthusiasm and zest. Learn the day-to-day triggers that press your stress alarm button and mind-body skills to manage your stress reaction.

  • A Whole Health model emphasizes the many aspects of our life that contribute to our well-being. Duke University’s Integrative Medicine Center mapped these aspects into what is referred to as the Wheel of Health. In this presentation, you will learn about the Wheel of Health and how to apply these concepts to your “overall health life”. The intent is to help you gain insight about your current health situation, clarify health desires and objectives and set attainable goals for success.

  • Metaphorically speaking, COVID-19 impacted many of us like a sudden tsunami that we didn’t see coming. We swirled in disbelief, experienced more confusion than certainty, felt more intense emotions than we were accustomed to and it impacted nearly every facet of our day-to-day life. Will this affect our mental, emotional and physical health? Absolutely. Learn how the pandemic affected our overall health and what steps you can take to secure your well-being.

  • We often talk about being “physically fit”, yet we rarely talk about being “psychologically fit”. Our psychological well-being is just as critical as our physical well-being, and our ability to function well in the world is dependent on both. Learn the elements that comprise being psychologically fit and well, and ways to strengthen your mind, balance your emotions and increase your mental capacity and emotional intelligence.

  • Dr. Nixon’s unique “Spectrum of Wellness” model helps you understand your health status.

We often think of health as a binary: we are either sick or well. In reality, it’s a spectrum with illness on one end and well-being on the other. Most of us hover in the middle by staying static. Every day, we make choices descending into illness or elevating us toward optimal well-being. Which one are you choosing? Learn to navigate your health. In this seminar, you’ll discover practices to propel you toward optimal health. Proactively care for you and your team.

  • With the upsurge in teen stress, mental health conditions and feelings of isolation, teens need tools and practices to calm the mind and body. Gathering as a group to learn and practice meditation supports teens’ needs to connect with peers and provides a social opportunity to develop positive coping skill sets and share experiences.
